"Education" is a separate section in the Unity-and-Diversity Wheel.  It is a centrally important part of the emergence of the global civilization.  Most educational reform so far has tended to center on mechanical adjustments to an already outmoded kind of educational system.  Something much more basic is needed in the way of reform in order to meet the needs of the new world.

First of all, we need to understand that we are in transition from a decaying Western civilization to an emerging global civilization.  New civilizations arise from a new sense of meaning and value.  They are not from war to war; rather, war represents the ultimate in absence of value.  What is needed is to project the new sense of value that can lift an entire society from the depths of despair and hopelessness to a sense of joy and creativity.  We are due for a global renaissance of faith and culture, the beginning of a society that serves the wellbeing of all.

This kind of education is for everyone, yet it also specifically needs to be reflected in schools, colleges, and universities around the world.  Freedom and democracy will grow best in an environment of creative education that gets everyone excited about learning because of its importance for living a full life.

It is this kind of education that we wish to explore on this website and especially in the newly reinvigorated "Spectrum Magazine" and Worldview Exploration Seminar.  See the Home Page for how to reach these sections.
